“And when they saw Him, they were astonished; and His mother said to Him, ‘Son why have You treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You.’ And He said to them, ‘Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?’ And they did not understand the statement which He had made to them. “’Kenosis’ is the technical word theologians use to describe Christ emptying Himself of the advantages of deity. A physical body freed Christ to act on a human scale, without those “disadvantages” of infinity. He could say what He wanted without His voice blasting the tree tops. He could express anger by calling King Herod a fox or by reaching for a bullwhip in the temple, rather than shaking the earth with His stormy presence.

“And He could talk to anyone – a prostitute, a blind man, a widow, a leper -- without having to announce, ‘Fear not!’ ‘Twas much, that man was made like God before, but that God should be made like man, much more. – John Donne, ‘Holy Sonnet 15’” *

JOB Related: Pray for those seeking work, that they will trust the Lord to be preparing the perfect role for them, includes: Barb, Tim, Carla and Paul.

PRAISE & THANKSGIVING: Barb is better. Lyle’s sacrifice of donating bone marrow has saved the life of his brother, Earl. Joan’s, Aunt Marge, had a serious kidney infection, not a stroke. Adrian who’s found a job and home. Leslie doing great with no remaining signs of cancer. David (great health now!). Reg for his wonderful ministry.

PRAY FOR THOSE WITH HEALTH CONCERNS: Fred’s heart surgery (28 Sept) and Nancy, his wife, recovering from major head trauma. Joan with breast cancer concern. Deb, special friend with multiple Myeloma (http://debdarley.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html ). Sue, not doing well, battling paraneoplastic syndrome. Another Nancy continues her battle with Ovarian Cancer. Wisdom for doctors caring for Doris, David, Poetry and Gary.

OTHER PRAYER REQUESTS: Isaias (family safety and his mission work in Philippines); God’s grace on USA. Randy (unexpected life changes). For Kevin (wisdom with his son). Michael, as he struggles with the pending loss of his Mum. Ulfur and David P – for strength to overcome the hold of powerful addictions.
