Personal Notes - Psalm 139:3

“Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art intimately acquainted with all my ways.”

Scrutinise your path – for things that would/could stumble you in the past, present and future. When God scrutinises, He looks closely, carefully and thoroughly to examine and inspect something with a penetrating look. It comes from a Latin word that means to search even to the rags. And He searches intimately – completely, from the inside out, for all He know about you, He also knows how your heart leans. And He is through. He looks at all – not some or part of your ways; and those open and closed to others. Your ways – habits, preferences are what preoccupy your Father!

“For all things are for your sakes, that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart, but though the outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal." II Corinthians 4:15-18
