Now I’ve Seen Everything!

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for
themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away
their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.
“But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the
work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” II Timothy 4:3-5
“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as
there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce
destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift
destruction upon themselves.
“And many will follow their sensuality and because of
them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will
exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and
their destruction is not asleep.” II Peter 2:1-3
“If anyone advocates a different doctrine, and does not
agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine
conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing;
“…but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions
and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language,
evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and
deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.” I Timothy 6:3-5
Living in Sydney, I was unable to watch yesterday’s eclipse. But it was interesting to read the many
perspectives and ‘meanings’ of this particular eclipse. There was so much misinformation and ‘spiritual
hype’ about the eclipse.
It got me to thinking that it’s not enough to just HAVE a
Bible, we are responsible to read God’s Word and study it. Current Barna Research on the Bible
is a concern.
I try to include verses right from Scripture at the start of
each devotion to encourage you to read more of the Bible for yourself. In this way you are better equipped to see
falsehoods quickly and surely.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
