Knowing vs. Feeling in Worship’
By Ligonier Ministries
“But realise this, that in the last days difficult tiles will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable,
malicious gossips, without
self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers
of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although
they have denied its power; avoid such men as these. II Timothy 3:1-5
Where is the Truth?
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that
the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 16-17
Campus Crusade for Christ had a little tract called ‘The
Four Spiritual Laws’ and although it has mostly fallen out of use today, it
contained a powerful illustration of what to do with our emotions when it comes
to our faith in Christ.
The engine of the train is FACT.
The coal car (where the energy comes from to make the engine go) is FAITH.
And the last car of the train, the caboose is FEELINGS.
It is clear, that a train cannot be pulled by the
caboose. It is our faith in the facts of
Scripture that changes our lives, regardless of how we feel about it.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you daily)
