By The Chosen (10min 13sec)

Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.

“Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.  But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, ‘Abraham, Abraham!’

“And he said, ‘Here I am.’  He said, ‘Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.’

“Then Abraham raised his eyes to look, and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.” Genesis 22:9-14

I’ve always wondered what Isaac was thinking and feeling as he obeyed his father and found himself on a pyre of sacrifice.  Thinking of my Saviour…I’ve always wondered what He was thinking and feeling as he obeyed His Father to submit to the cross for each one of us.

Assignment

1.    Set aside an hour and find a place where you will not be interrupted.

2.    Bring your Bible, notebook, something to write with and a way to watch the video above.

3.    Settle your heart and pray that the Lord will help you focus on His Word and what you are learning from it.

4.    Date a fresh page in your notebook.

5.    Watch the video and make notes of any new insights you discover.

6.    Read John 3:1-21, carefully noting any new insight you discover in your notebook and contrast and compare it to the verses above of Abraham and Isaac.

7.    Pray and thank the Lord for His provision -- sometime at the last moment -- of what you need (not want) in your daily life.

Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still prays for you daily)
