Bible teaching about Jesus Christ by DLM Christian

“The Jews therefore gathered around Him, and were saying
to Him, ‘How long will You keep us in suspense?
If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.’
Jesus answered them, ‘I told you, and you do not believe; the works that
I do in My Father’s name, these bear witness of Me.
“’But you do not believe, because you are not of My
sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I
know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall
never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is
greater than all and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s
hand. I and the Father are one.’
“The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, ‘I showed you many good
works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?’ The Jews answered Him, ‘For a good work we do
not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man make Yourself
out to be God.’
“Jesus answered them, ‘Has it not been written in your
Law, ‘I SAID, YOU ARE GODS’? If he
called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be
broken), do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,
‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, I am the Son of God’?
“’If I do not do the works of My Father do not believe
Me; but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works , that
you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father. Therefore they were seeking again to seize
Him, and He eluded their grasp.” John 10:24-39
[God speaking] “I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are
sons of the Most High.’” Psalm 82:6
Jesus relied on the Scriptures to answer the Jews who had
surround Him. He knew they weren’t
looking to learn from Him, rather they had grown to hate Him and must have been
delighted to hear Him say words that would finally justify them stoning Him.
You see, the Jews were the original ‘Bible-bashers’ – people who take
every opportunity to quote Scriptures and let us all know we are not as good as they are. However, they often do not keep to these rules themselves and if they do, they brag and take great pride in their
obedience.
The Jews attempted to use God’s word as a club to break the heart of everyone around them. In this case they used it to catch Jesus breaking the first Commandment!
This was a serious and sad moment
for Jesus. Yet, He knew the only defense He had to satisfy their blood lust was God’s very words.
Take care with love, especially His, Darlene (who still
prays for you each day)

Pray for those in full-time service
Pray to uphold our Christian leaders – that they never compromise God’s Word, are bold and courageous in the face of evil. Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.
Pray for those with ongoing health concerns
