“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the
conviction of things not seen. For by it
the men of old gained approval. By faith
we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is
seen was not made out of things which are visible.
“By faith, Abel offered to God, a better sacrifice than
Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God
testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still
speaks.
“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see
death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the
witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. And without faith, it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder
of those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:1-6
“Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he
became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred
and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked
with God; and he was not, for God took him.” Genesis 5:22-24
Faith and hope are as mysterious as how God directs the
course of our lives to and from the Cross of Christ. Sometimes it seems He is not paying full attention
with what is going on! Sometimes we are
disappointed in what is happening. What
we must keep in our minds and hearts is that He is always, moment-by-moment,
helping us through this confusing and chaotic world.
The only other person to be taken to be with God before
death was Elijah. Can you imagine living
a life of faith and trust so closely that God choose to pull you to Him before
you had to suffer death! Most of us can’t
even think what that would be like.
This WeakEnd Assignment: Find a quiet place and hour where you will
not be interrupted. Grab your Bible and
spiritual notebook and pen. Review your
favourite passages and then pray to rededicate yourself to more focused
followship rather than so much questioning.
Take care, your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene (who
prays for you each morning).

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS
·
USA – Pray the Lord will demonstrate His power in
unexpected and uniting ways during these times of unrest and confusion. Help hearts settle and rest in Him
alone. Let the truth of God’s Word and
ways overcome the drive to destroy our founding, Bible-based values. For Christ-centre, Bible-based revival in the
USA and religious freedom for Christians wherever they may be.
·
Kim –
whose Mom just died and whose father is quite frail and in his 90s. Pray the Lord will speak to Kim (the
responsible one) during this time of confusion and expectations that she will
rest in Christ.
·
UPDATE on Baby Jolie –
Some of you faithful prayers will remember Baby Jolie. We just received an update after eight months
of waiting. She was able to keep her
leg. She still has many surgeries
pending, but it is a great prayer victory.
She is slowly recovering but has a long way ahead for such a little
one! Keep praying for her and her
exhausted parents.
·
Bob –a
friend of my brother and sister-in-law who has just had a tragedy in his life. Pray the Lord uses these recent experiences
to help him realise his need for the Lord Jesus Christ.
·
Peyton
- eldest granddaughter of Jeff and Rachael.
Pray for this lovely woman of God as she goes off to college, that she
remains safe and strong in her beliefs and convictions and continues to
encourage many with her loving faithfulness to the Lord.
·
Tracey’s Mom –
home now. Her ability to think clearly
and care for herself is weakening. Pray
for a home health carer to be found and that her loved ones will make time to
help her through this time.
·
Tracey –
as she deals with the difficulties of her Mom growing less able to care for
herself. Pray Tracey will pace herself
and cherish every moment with her Mom.
·
Hans –
a dear friend in Germany, has stabilised.
His CT scan has shown no advancement of the cancer. He thanks you for your prayers and reports that
his left hand is also improving (it has been paralysed since this began). Please continuing to pray for his healthcare
providers, his patience and wisdom. Pray
he is surrounded by faithful and compassionate Christian friends who will
support him through this journey. Pray
for his Mom (age 83) is unwell herself, that their time together will be filled
with extraordinary good memories and lots of love.

USA President
Donald Trump – As Christians it
is our responsibility to pray for our leaders and trust that God has a plan for
the USA through this man. If you doubt
the importance of his appointment, just look at the baseless antagonism against
him. Surely Satan is NOT happy and means to thwart God’s plan. Pray someone helps President Trump and Melania understand the true meaning of a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pray they will both have an insatiable hunger to read God’s Word for
themselves. Pray God sends a
Bible-Believing Christian to regularly disciple them in the Truth. Pray God shuts the mouths of the false
prophets who regularly circle around them.
Pray for those in full-time service
During this time, when the entire world is struggling to understand this new ‘plague’, it is critical for us to uphold our Christian leaders. They will be needed everywhere. Pray for their wisdom, safety, ingenuity, strength and for their families.
Pray for those with ongoing health concerns
Many of us have family, friends and loved ones who are fragile health wise. It is important to protect them in practical ways and most important we must pray even more for them that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.
