LACHLAN

 "This will be written for the generation to come; that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.  For He looked down from His holy height; from heaven the Lord gazed upon the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner;

“to set free those who were doomed to death; that men may tell of the name of the Lord in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem; when the peoples gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord."  Psalm 1-2:18-22

"And Jesus began to teach and say to them, 'Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'?  But you have made it a robbers' den."  Mark 11:17

"And they sang a new song, saying, 'Worthy art Thou to take the book, and to break its seals; for Thou wast slain, and didst purchase for God with Thy blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.  And Thou hast made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.'"  Revelation 5:9-10

Did you know …

·      Only 5% of the known world's languages (6,528 different languages) have a written form?
·      The entire Bible is translated into only 276 languages?
·      The New Testament is only translated into 676 languages?
·      There are portions of the Bible available in just 1,012 languages?
·      That only 1964* languages have some of the Good News in a written form?
·      And did you know there are no Scriptures for 4,564 languages?
·      *Latest figures indicate there are just over 2,000 bits of Scripture, New Testaments and Bibles now available.

Think about it and pray for the Lord to raise up new translators like Lachlan, who has three children to care for while he studies to become a Wycliff Bible Translator!

Take care, your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene (who still prays for you each morning).

NEW PRAYER REQUESTS and UPDATES

(NOTE:  Words underlined have a link embedded to provide more details)

To serve you in a new way, I’m researching and writing practical information for you about the pandemic.  Please visit:  https://newsaboutcovid19.blogspot.com/

Please pray for all involved, for health care workers, those trying to contain the spread; for those contagious, for those who contract the virus, for those feeling afraid and lonely and for the families who have lost loved ones.  Pray they are wise, patient and take precautions to protect others.

·       Today in 210 countries
·       2,072,269 confirmed cases
·       51,170 critical condition
·       133,802 reported deaths

  • USA tornados in the South more than 30 people have been confirmed dead from a series of violent and powerful tornados.  Pray for those who have lost loved ones, rescue workers searching for lost ones, support workers and facilities.  With social distancing and this virus around, it will make this time especially difficult.
  • USA President Donald Trump as he leads us through this pandemic – It is especially our responsibility as Christians to remember God has a plan through this man.  If you doubt the importance of his appointment, just look at how much antagonism there is against him.  Surely Satan is NOT happy and means to thwart God’s plan.  Pray someone helps President Trump understand the true meaning of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that he will have a driving hunger to read God’s Word for himself and that God sends a Bible-believing Christian to regularly disciple him in the Truth and that God shuts the mouths of the false prophets who circle around him.
  • Fred – is making plans to move from California to Tennessee in the first quarter of 2020.  Pray for his wise attention to detail, stamina and roaring good health as he makes these life changes.
  • Tracey – Pray Tracey finds a new role to satisfy her and allow her to grow and share her skills and wisdom.

PRAY FOR THOSE IN FULL-TIME SERVICE

During this time, when the entire world is struggling to understand this ‘plague’, it is critical that each of us upholds our Christian leaders.  They will be a very stretched resource for us all.  Pray for their safety and strength their families and most of all, their wisdom to pace themselves.

PRAY FOR THOSE WITH ONGOING HEALTH CONCERNS

Many of us have family, friends and loved ones who are fragile health-wise.  It is important to protect them in wise and practical ways and most important we must pray even more for them that the Lord will have mercy on them during this challenging time.
