Justice - Mercy - Grace

"But God being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves.  It is the gift of God, not as a result of works, that no one should boast.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for great works, which God prepared before hand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:4-10

·        JUSTICE:  We get what we deserve.
·        MERCY:    We do not get what we deserve.
·        GRACE:    We get what we do not deserve.[1]

Our loving heavenly Father, saddened by disobedience from the beginning, established a system of rules and laws to protect us, just as most parents do today.  Justice, therefore, prevailed.  Yet, sin insinuated itself throughout the world.  God showed mercy.

Then, God's plan for the world unfolded.  He allowed His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die in order to pay the full and complete price for our sins (past, present and future).

This utterly did away with the old system and substituted grace for mercy.  Grace for all who will accept the free gift Jesus offers for eternal life.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
