CRITICAL Concept for Understanding Revelation, Part 3

Please watch this.  Please.  It's not just about America:

"'I the Lord search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds." Jeremiah 17:10

"'Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit!  For why will you die, O house of Israel?  For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,' declares the Lord God.  'Therefore, repent and live.'" Ezekiel 18:31-32

"Though the wicked is shown favour, he does not learn righteousness; he deals unjustly in the land of uprighteousness, and does not perceive the majesty of the Lord." Isaiah 26:10

God is love.  To say that God is just is to say that God is always faithful to His love.  What then is God's wrath about?  There are two types of anger/ wrath:

  1. To lose your temper - all too common and demonstrates a lack of patience.  It is always self-centred.
  2. To have a passionate concern for another where we are determined they not be hurt or that they do not hurt others - always other's -centred.

God is deeply concerned for justice and passionately determined to redeem us with His love -- the sacrifice of Jesus for us.  This is our only hope:  to accept the one and only way Jesus has opened for us and let HIM pay for the debt of our sin.

Since God's perspective is world-wide, it is impossible for us to appreciate the vastness and darkness He sees in our world - past, present and future.

As we feel broken hearted by evil growing around us, we can barely imagine the depth of God's painful anger at how evil has infected His creation.  But God's anger is not selfish and petty - a tantrum a minute.

God demonstrates ultimate "self-restraint" because He has all power and can always get His way.  Yet, He chooses to give us the privilege of choosing His way over our selfish desires - to accept His free gift of gracious salvation.  His wrath burns that so few realise how vital this is!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
