First Prophecy of His Return

"And the Lord God said to the serpent, 'Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life; and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall crush your head and you shall bruise Him on the heel.'" Genesis 3:14-15

"And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood.  And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth.

"And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.."  Revelation 12:15-17

The great promise found in Genesus is known as the Protevangelium or the "first Gospel".  It is a promise from God the Father of the ultimate coming and victory of the Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Note that it is the seed of woman not the seed of man, because no man was involved in the conception of Jesus Christ.  Sometimes we can read over verses unaware of how precious even the smallest of word may be to our better understanding.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, who prays for you each morning, Darlene
