Praying AND Doing

"But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed.

"'Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul.  You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.'

"'So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.  Nevertheless, we must run around on some island.'" Acts 27:22-26

Paul "took prudent action to bring about what God by divine revelation had already promised would certainly come to pass.  He did not confuse God's sovereignty with his responsibility to act prudently."*

In other words, Paul prayed but he was happy he knew how to swim and would swim and struggle with the others to ensure that all were safe.  Praying, saying and doing are important.

We pray believing.  We share with others to encourage them and we take action, rather than just floating around with an expectation that God will do all the work!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene

PLEASE NOTE THE PRAYER UPDATES! AND THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO ARE FAITHFUL TO PRAY AND TO KEEP ME UPDATED ON GOD'S PROGRESS!  And for any of you who wonder if prayer is worth taking time for, just page through previous entries and see the hand of our loving Father in action!
