"'This sentence is by the decree of the angelic
watchers, and the decision is a command of the holy ones, in order that the
living may know that the Most High is ruler over all the realm of mankind, and
bestows it on whom He wishes, and sets over it the lowliest of men.'
"'and you will be driven away from mankind, and
your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle,
and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognise that the Most
High is ruler over the realm of mankind, and bestows it on whomever He
wishes.'" Daniel 4:17, 32
"Has God forgotten to be gracious? Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Then I said, 'It is my grief, that the right
hand of the Most High has changed.
I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; surely I will
remember Thy wonders of old. I will
meditate on all Thy work, and muse on Thy deeds." Psalm 76:10-11
"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and
prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for kings
and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet
life in all godliness and dignity."
I Timothy 2:1-2
"Prayer is the most
tangible expression of trust in God. -- If we would trust God when decisions of
government in our own country go against our best interests, we must pray for
His working in the hearts of those officials and legislators who make those
decisions. The truth that the king's heart
is in the hand of the Lord is meant to be a stimulus to prayer, not a stimulus
to a fatalistic attitude."*
The reason we do not pray
often enough is because prayer is actually one of the hardest things we
do....this privilege, to move the hand of the mighty God of all, is ours
because Jesus died so we could have this intimacy...and it takes SUCH trust!
Take care with love,
especially His! Your servant and friend
in Christ, Darlene
