Sin Foundations - First War

"And it came about in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Golin, that they made war with Bera king of Sodom and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shember king of Zebolin, and the king of Bela (that is Zoar).  All these came as allies to the valley of Siddim (that is the Salt Sea)." Genesis 14:1-3

War comes from greed and lack of trust in the Lord and His provision and providence.  Men think they know better where their lines of ownership are...but it's God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  All that we have comes from His generous indulgence of His children, fighting for more is futile!

"'Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these.  But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith?

"'Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat? or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?'  For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.'" Matthew 6:28b-33

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
