Look Behind

“And do not be conformed to this world , but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

“And immediately He made the disciples get into the boat, and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.  And after He had sent the multitudes away, He went up to the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.

“But the boat was already many stadia away from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.  And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.  And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were frightened, saying, ‘It is a ghost!’  And they cried out for fear.

“But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.’  And Peter answered Him and said, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.’  And He said, ‘Come!’

“And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.  But seeing the wind, he became afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out saying, ‘Lord, save me!’  And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’” Matthew 14:22-31

“God’s plans may not always make us glad, but they are good!  His plans may not always seem pleasant, but they are perfect!  When we see it to be good and we acknowledge it to be perfect we will discover it to be pleasing.”*

When you’re in a boat on a beautiful day and look forward it looks lovely with the water and waves all laid out before you.  But look right behind the boat and see the churning and confusion that’s going on as you are propel you forward.  It is always best to keep your eyes on Jesus, He knows where He is captaining your boat!

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene

PS:  The technical difficulties that began months ago, continue.  I’m preparing a new way to send these to you and it takes far longer now to get them out.  ((The number of people who request this has grown to where sending the lists (even in smaller group lists) results in them being treated like SPAM; with an ongoing threat that I will not be able to have access through my Internet Service Provider.)
