Did you hear that?

“Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.  Tell of His glory among the nations, Tell wonderful deeds among all the peoples.  For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods, for all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.  Splendour and majesty are before Him, strength and joy are in His place.” I Chronicles 16:23-27

“’I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.’” Matthew 16:19

“Is God silent?  I answer that question with another question:  Is the church silent?  We are His mouthpiece, His designated vocal chords on this planet.  A play of such awesome transposition guarantees that God’s message will sometimes seemed garbled or incoherent; it guarantees that God will sometimes SEEM silent.  But embodiment was His goal, and in that light the Day of Pentecost becomes a perfect metaphor:  God’s voice on earth, speaking through human beings in a manner event THEY could not comprehend.”*

How humbling!  From the book, “Receiving Love” by Harville Hendrix & Helen LaKelley Hunt:  “Through relationship, we are mirrored into existence.  The consciousness of who we are and what the world is like arises out of our encounters with other people.  Our identities are the fruit of our engagement the people close to us.”  Relationships are not only about us, but about those WE are close to; and these help to define our God in other’s eyes and hearts.  Enjoy your weekend, my friends.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
