Top Sins?

“Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law. For this, ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet.’ And if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ Love does no wrong to a neighbour; love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.” Romans 13:8-10

Paul reminds us here that the Ten Commandments covers the range of sins that man “degrees” as better or worse to commit (i.e. murder versus coveting). However, Jesus died to save us from our natural desire to sin and spoke of the inward attitude of our heart – because sin starts in the heart. When we fall, we know He is there to catch us with His amazing love no matter how the world views sinful acts.

“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.” I John 1:8-10
