Psalm Now 139:1-6

“O Lord, Thou hast searched me and known me. Thou doest know when I rise up; Thou dost understand my though from afar. Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word in my tongue, behold, O Lord, Thou dost know it all. Thou hast enclosed me behind and before, and laid Thy hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it.” Psalm 139:1-6

Leslie F. Brandt and Corita Kent wrote a lovely paraphrase for Psalm 139 in a book called Psalms Now:

“O God, You know me inside and out, through and through.

“Everything I do, every thought that flits through my mind, every step I take, every plan I make, every word I speak, You know, even before these things happen.

“You know my past; You know my future.

"Your knowledge of me sometimes comforts me, sometimes frightens me; but always it is far beyond my comprehension.”

Paraphrasing or writing a verse or chapter into words the help personalise God’s Word can help the depth of our understanding. Yet the purity and effectiveness of His Word needs little more than personal heart application.

Stay near God's Word. Take care. Your servant & friend in Christ, Darlene

PS: Prayer Requests: The Kossally family arrived safely back home late last night. David’s, Adrian’s and Randy’s doctors. Gregg who must sell his home in the UK. And my need.
