His reputation

[Jesus said] “’Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.’” John 14:1-4

“Perhaps the best way to view the ending in Job is to see it not as a blueprint for what will happen to us in this life, but rather as a sign of what is to come.  It stands as a sweet, satisfying symbol, a solution to one man’s disappointment that offers us all a foretaste of the future.

“The promise of Job 42, then, is that God will finally right the wrongs that mark our days.

“The Bible stakes God’s reputation on His ability to conquer evil and restore heaven and earth to their original perfection.”*

“Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.  Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.  No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyone what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.” I Corinthians 10:11-13

For those who have not visited the link to Deb Darley’s blog (in the prayer requests), Deb, coincidentally has the same rare form of cancer my friend Adrian has and has carefully documented the struggle she has gone through as a precious gift for us all.  He started a 21 day course of chemo therapy yesterday.  I’m sure this is where the rubber meets the road for Adrian’s faith.   What a privilege to serve him by holding him up in prayer.

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
