Two Worlds - Part 1

“And the Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Him, asked Him to show them a sign from heaven.  But He answered and said to them, ‘When it is evening, you say, ‘it will be fair weather, for the sky is red.;  And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.;’  Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?  An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah.’  And He left them, and went away.” Matthew 16:1-4

“Spiritual experience does not bear introspection easily; shine a spotlight on it, and it vaporises.  If I probe my times of communion with God, I can usually uncover another, more natural explanation for what has taken place.  There is no blinding difference between the natural and supernatural worlds, no gulf fixed with barbed wire separating the two.” *

Jesus did not say it was wrong to seek for a sign or an explanation.  He asked us to think clearly about what we see and experience in our lives; to always be mindful, that as His children, we can know the truth of His saving and gracious love.  During times of confusion and questions, no matter what else happens, we can cling to the fact that His children are not alone.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

Take care with love, especially His!  Your servant and friend in Christ, Darlene
