Second Crossing Thanks

“Then you will say on that day, ‘I will give thanks to Thee, O Lord; for although Thou wast angry with me, Thine anger is turned away, and Thou dost comfort me.  Behold, God is my salvation.  I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.’

“Therefore, you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.  And in that day, you will say, ‘Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name.  Make known His deeds among the peoples; make them remember that His name is exalted.’

“Praise the Lord in song, for He has done excellent things; let this be known throughout the earth.  Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 12

Isaiah is filled with challenges. Here we read about a remnant of the people thanking God after the safe ‘second exodus’ — where God dried up the Jordan River so the nation could cross into the land (Joshua 3).

It is a reminder that an unimaginable future awaits us that we will one day walk into.  This should bring us to a deep gratitude.  When we do, others notice and it may give you an opening to share His blessings with then.

NOTES:  I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses.  They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.

The Five Solas:  Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
