Spelt Bread and Water
“But as for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt, put them in one vessel and make them into bread for yourself; you shall eat it according to the number of the days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days.
“Your food which you eat shall be twenty shekels a day by weight; you shall eat from time to time. The water you drink shall be the sixth part of a hin by measure; you shall drink it from time to time.” Ezekiel 4:9-11
The book of Ezekiel reminds us how easy it is to compromise our walk in little ways. Ezekiel was God’s street preacher for 22 years in Babylon. He was called to act out God’s message of the future conquest.
God wrote and directed ‘the play’ and Ezekiel faithfully acted out God’s message to the smallest detail – even living on bread and water for more than a year. His message is important for us today because we are ‘a street preacher’ to someone, too.

NOTES: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
The Five Solas: Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
