The Biggest Misconception?
“And Jesus answered him, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’ An d he rep0lied, ‘Say it, Teacher.’ ‘A money lender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denari, and the other fifty. When they were unable to replay, he graciously forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?’
“Simon answered and said, ‘I suppose the one whom he forgave more.’ And He said to him, ‘You have judged correctly.’ Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
“’You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume. For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.’” Luke 7:40-47
The video is a great explanation why even our ‘respectable, little’ sins matter! “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.’ (James 2:10)
Not one of us -- if we are conscious -- passes through a day without falling short of the glory of God in thought, word or deed! It is important not to forget this because it helps us appreciate the magnificence of the price Jesus had to pay to ensure we can be forgiven of our sins and be with Him for eternity. And He even left us Spiritual soap (I John 1:8-10), so we can keep clean and stay close always.
