Frogs
“Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, the chief of his officials, to bring in some of the sons of Israel, including some of the royal family and of the nobles, youths in whom was no defect, who were good-looking, showing intelligence in every branch of wisdom, endowed with understanding and discerning knowledge, and who had ability for serving in the king’s court; and he ordered him to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.
“The king appointed for them a daily ration from the king’s choice food and from the wine which he drank, and appointed that they should be educated three years, at the end of which they were to enter the king’s personal service.”
Daniel 1:3-5
In 1989, Charles Handy wrote The Age of Unreason[1]. In it he details how, if you put a frog in water and slowly heat the water, the frog will eventually let itself be boiled to death. Mr Handy also said, ‘We too, will not survive if we don’t respond to the radical way in which the world is changing.’
Surprisingly, he foresaw what we are living through today. He was a small voice warning us to be wise. Daniel had to live through this type of change where small and gentle changes were made to ‘soften resistance’ to a foreign evil. In the book of Daniel we learn that the best way through a time of chaos is to stay true to God and His principles. There is no other hope when the world begins to darken.

NOTES: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
The Five Solas: Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
