Fishy Thanks
“’I descended to the roots of the mountains. The earth with its bars was around me forever, but You have brought up my life from the pit, O Lord my God. While I was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came to You, into Your holy temple.
“’Those who regard vain idols forsake their faithfulness, but I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay. Salvation is from the Lord.’ Then the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.” Jonah 2:6-10
Many of us have experienced something in our lives that we thought we could not bear. Once we make it through, we are not just thankful, but we are amazed at how wisely and kindly the Lord cares for us, even when the difficulty we have been facing is of our own making.
Jonah is a great book to read through when difficult times come before they become unbearable. It only takes eight minutes and is flooded with amazing insights!

NOTES: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
The Five Solas: Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
