Quail in Psalms
“Then He brought them out with silver and gold; and among His tribes there was not one who stumbled. Egypt was glad when they departed; for the dread of them had fallen upon them.
“He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to illumine by night. They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
“He opened the rock, and water flowed out; it ran in the dry places like a river. For He remembered His holy word with Abraham His servant; and He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout.
He gave them also the lands of the nations, that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labour, so that they might keep His statutes, and observe His laws, Praise the Lord!” Psalm 105:37-40
God used His abundance in the miraculous freeing and sustaining of His chosen people from Egyptian slavery. He constantly demonstrated His might and provision to bless them. Like a loving, earthly father He hoped they would grow up to ‘keep His statutes and observe His laws’.
And yet, they complained at every juncture of the journey, no matter how great the blessing. Imagine being there on the day the clouds of quail appeared so they would have meat (Exodus 16) with their manna! Sadly, they had only been in the wilderness a month and a half!
So, God continued with His original plan (Genesis 3). He sacrificed His precious, beloved Son for us to pay the price we could not pay for our open and hidden disobedience. It is our personal responsibility to realise that no matter how hard we may try to please God with our actions and choices, sin remains in our hearts.

NOTES: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
The Five Solas: Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
