Are you perfect?

Click HERE for a reminder of how profound
the truth of perfection is for you.

“By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins fort all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.

“For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.  And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, ‘This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord; I will put My laws upon their heart, and on their mind, I will write them,’

“ He then says, ‘And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.’  Now where there is forgiveness of to these things, there is no longer any offering for sin.” Hebrews 10:11-18

In the time of the Old Testament (Genesis 15:9, Leviticus 12:8) pigeons and turtle doves were offered as sacrifice for sin.  They were the least expensive of the required sacrifices.  In Luke 2:24, Joseph and Mary offer turtle doves, in obedience to the law.  People had mandatory days and mandatory actions (such as sacrificing animals) that had to be followed regularly to temporarily ‘manage’ the sinful lives they lived.

Thankfully, Jesus was born, lived, died and rose again as THE ultimate and complete sacrifice for each of us.  It is up to us to personally recognise our sinfulness and helplessness and accept His sacrifice.  Once we do we can rest in knowing His sacrifice is sufficient for all time. (I John 4:10).

NOTES:  I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses.  They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.

The Five Solas:  Individuals are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone to the glory of God alone!
