The ‘Complainers’
“Now the people became like those who complain of adversity in the hearing of the Lord; and when the Lord heard it, His anger was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
“The people therefore cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to the Lord and the fire died out. So the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the Lord burned among them.
“The rabble who were among them had greedy desires; and also the sons of Israel wept again and said, ‘Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, but now our appetite is gone. There is nothing at all to look at except this manna.’” Numbers 11:1-6
Did you notice the ‘classification or type’ of people in this passage: ‘like those who complain of adversity to be overheard by the Lord’? I suspect this covers almost all of us at some time.
Our struggles are real…they ‘hurt’ us and slow us down, confuse and compromise our thinking. When we focus on our circumstances, we can forget the blessings and amazing rescues in our past.
God has blessed each one of His children in multiple ways (just consider Psalm 139, the most obvious reminder of how present God is with us). Take a moment now to pray that you will not let today’s circumstances crowd out the memory of His past rich and undeserved blessings!
Take care with love, especially His, from Darlene, who still prays for you each day.

NOTE: I choose to believe the Bible because it's a reliable collection of historical documents written down by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They reported supernatural events that took place before, of specific prophecies; and claim that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.
