Paradox of Weakness
“And He [the Lord] has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. I have become foolish; you yourselves compelled me.” II Corinthians 12:9-10
“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise. In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? All day long they distort my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil. They attack, they lurk, they watch my steps, as they have waited to take my life. Because of wickedness, cast them forth, in anger put down the peoples, O God!” Psalm 56:3-7
Some days I feel weak against a world that seems intent on rejecting His truth. And then I realise that my weakness is my greatest strength, when I entrust it to my loving and precious Lord Jesus. From my weakness and willingness, He strengthens my resolve to get out of His way so He can use me to reach a helping hand to others.
